I have been inspired by the 5 Minute Project
From the 5 Minute Site….
“To participate, you simply document 5 minutes of your life.
The spirit of this project is keep it unplanned,unstaged,
just 5 ordinary minutes. Of course, 5 minutes can be extraordinary, too,
but I want to see the beauty in the mundane not 5 minutes of a portrait sitting.”
Photographers can submit their images to be featured on their project blog.
One of my New Years Resolutions was to submit more of my work to online photography magazines and blogs.
This is not merely to feel the excitement to see my work shared and featured on another website,
but to push me more, to inspire me and make me move out of my comfort zone.
When looking at the type of photography that I am drawn to
the kind that really speaks to me
that pulls at my emotions
that reignites my passion for photography…
It is real life, documentary photography.
This can also be known as lifestyle photography, but even better, it is called storytelling photography .
I realized, that when I photograph my children,
I am documenting the every day.
I do not pose my children.
I do not ask my children to smile for the camera.
I never attempt to dress my children in stylish clothes that we do not wear daily.
I simply capture and document what they are naturally doing.
So here is my first 5 Minute Project.
I documented 5 minutes of my boys playing in the snow this afternoon.
When making business goals for 2015, I want to document my clients lives more like I document my own family.
So I am now offering Day in the Life sessions:
I will come and document a day in your life –
Whether that be at your home, the park, a trip to the store or a day at the zoo or museum;
it is all about documenting your life and telling your family’s story.
I can capture a Saturday morning pancake breakfast.
Dad wrestling with the kids.
Mom reading them a story.
Allow me to capture the beautiful everyday moments of your lives.
The little moments that you will want to remember forever.
