I believe that...

the days are long and the years are short...

(I honestly despise that saying because it's painfully accurate)

Hi, it's me, Mary Beth...
and I have regrets.

It took me EIGHT YEARS and THREE KIDS to book our first family photo session.

It’s not that I didn’t want to have a photo session, but life happened. I was a busy Mom and I let some fears hold me back.

I didn’t love how I looked, my husband didn’t love the idea, and I was afraid my three young boys may be more than a photographer could handle!

Excuses. I made excuses for eight years and I still regret it.

A mother sitting in a rocking chair feeding an infant with a toddler standing beside them."Mary Beth worked with us for newborn pictures for both of our sons, just 21 months apart. She not only captures beautiful moments with our children and family but is an absolute pleasure to spend time with. Mary Beth also has a gift for calming babies! We love her photojournalism style." -Kristin H."an absolute pleasure
to spend time with"

I know you might also be thinking about putting your session off until "next year" because [insert 100 excuses here].

However, I speak from personal experience when I say "next year" turns into five years and before you know it, your oldest kid is taller than you.

I regret not doing it sooner. Let me save you some future regrets.

A newborn baby sleeping peacefully in a bassinet with a stuffed animal by its side."I was looking for a photographer who was very engaging because my family is not photogenic. She did a fantastic job! Her style is so natural that she really captures the meaning of "family" through her photos. I highly recommend her if you love authentic photographs and someone who works so well with family dynamics!" -Beth F."she really captures
the meaning of family"

As a Mom to older kids I know how darn fleeting childhood is.

I want to capture memories for you while your kids are still too young to drive a car.

I promise that happens way faster than you'll ever be comfortable with.

Feeling stressed about photos?

Believe me, I know the stress behind preparing for a family photo session so my goal is to keep the process as easy and as stress-free as possible for you.

My favorite photos with my family are when I'm engaged with my kids and not looking at the camera. These are the kinds of photos that I love to take for other families.

I'll also get some naturally posed "portraits" where everyone is looking at the camera and smiling (perfect for Facebook profiles and Grandma's wall) but the rest of our session will be totally laid back.

No begging, bribing or threats.

No silly props, awkward posing or fake cheesy smiles.

I just want you to snuggle your baby or play with your kids and leave the rest up to me.

A little bit about me...

Mary Beth Miller and family photo session

•My boys are 13, 16 & 18. Don't believe the rumors, teenagers are actually pretty awesome. But as a Mama to older kids, I know how cruel time can be and how they grow up WAY too fast!

•I'm married to my best friend and we've been together for 26 years! I have no idea how he puts up with me most of the time but we definitely laugh a lot together.

•I'm a Dog Mom to my rescue, Lucy, a short and wide golden retriever who loves to spend the day on the couch.

•I love to rewatch seasons of New Girl, The Office & Schitt's Creek (laughter is the BEST medicine)

•Memes and funny animal videos keep me laughing and sane

•My favorite place to be is in the woods and I love the idea of camping but sleeping in a tent makes me super grumpy.

•My family lived/worked on a garlic farm for almost 10 years! I was a crazy chicken lady, beekeeper, and gardener but we recently relocated back to residential life..

•I went to college to be an elementary teacher

"Mary Beth is worth the money"

"I love Mary Beth! She is great with the kids and dogs and captures excellent pictures and I always love them. There has never been a bad photo session, even with 3 kids under 2! I can't wait to book a session for this coming year. Mary Beth is worth the money." -Danielle B.
