Beaver County, PA Family Photographer | Mary Beth Miller

Ok, I’ll be totally honest here and tell you just how hard it was to complete my 365 photo a day project for March.  March seems to always be the hardest month for me.  And most times when I failed to complete a 365 project, it was March that caused my failure!   Towards the end of winter, I tend to fall into a dark hole, a creative funk, maybe it’s seasonal affective disorder….  Just Mom-ing and adult-ing become hard to get through the cold and mostly sunless and snow filled days.  But I refused to allow March to kill my project!   I gave myself a kick in the pants and allowed myself some grace.  I used a few shabby cell phone photos and borrowed extra images from the days that I did take a few photos.  So what if I “cheated” a bit…  There really are no rules in this 365 project anyways!   I am looking forward to April with it’s longer days, it’s sunshine (I am being hopeful) and even it’s rain showers that will bring me my May flowers!

Our month consisted of a 12th and 8th birthday (hmm, maybe this is also why March is hard on me, lots of bittersweet Mom tears), trips to the Carnegie Museum of Natural History, the Carnegie Science Center and the Andy Warhol Museum (all in Pittsburgh).  We put our Carnegie membership pass to good use before it expired!   We also went to Oh Wow Children’s Center in Youngstown and Phipps Conservatory.   As homeschoolers, I love that we have the freedom to go on “field trips” any day of the week.  And I even appear in two of the photos!

Goal for April: get in the photos WITH my boys!!

Here are my 365 photos from February!
