Family Photo Session in your Home with Mary Beth Miller Photography

……

Here is the first part of having a Family Photo Session in your Home! I have photographed this wonderful Pittsburgh family a handful of times since their first baby boy was born so I was very sad to hear that they are moving all the way across the country to the west coast! I will really miss hanging out and photographing them but I wish them all the best as they embark on this new chapter in their lives.

I love that for our final family photo session here in Pittsburgh we did the session inside (and outside!) of their lovely home. I documented some of the things that they love to do at home together like make spinach muffins with Mom, jump on their beds and play with water in the backyard! They also played on the swing set with, drew with chalk on the sidewalk in front of their home and played with a lot of their favorite toys. Although these in home sessions are pretty laid back without a lot of planning, I always ask my families what activities they may want to have documented! I want these activities to be special to your family! Things that you normally do as a family or moments that are part of your routine. I do not want to document Mom baking in the kitchen with the kids if she is like me and never actually does that! Lol, ok, maybe I do that once in a while (especially when my kids were smaller), but it is not something that is very special or meaningful to us like ti can be for other families. Every family is unique and I want to document your own unique memories!

I am so happy that I was able to capture these memories of them at their home together before they move next month. One day the boys will be able to look back at these photos to see what their home in Pennsylvania looked like.  This is also why I love to photograph the kids in their bedrooms! They will also remember some of their favorite activities that they did in this home as a family.

And similar to my last blog post, I have so many favorites from this session that I will be breaking it into two different blog posts! Stay tuned for part two of this family photo session! I love to share a wide selection of images from my sessions so anyone that may be considering a photo session with me can get a good idea of what a session can be like. Although, all of my sessions are very unique to each family!

Is there something in your lives that you would love to have documented? Maybe the current home you live in? Maybe you would like photos at Grandma’s house, which may also be you or your spouses childhood home! I would love to capture memories for you in a place that is special and meaningful to you!
