Here is Part two of my blog post with family photos at home in Pittsburgh with this wonderful family! In my last blog post I mentioned how sad I was to hear that they are leaving Pittsburgh to move all the way across the country!
I also shared images of them all playing in the house and making muffins with Mom! I also mentioned how every family that I work with is unique! And I was your session to be unique! The first way to do this is to have it in your home! I have been to HUNDREDS of homes and every single one is so different! Like a snowflake, not one is the same! And with every family I want to take photos of activities that are unique to your family! I am not going to take photos of the family making Pancakes together on a Saturday morning if this is not something you regularly do! That would be a false representation of your family!
I ask each family to tell me some activities that are special to them! For this part of the session Mom wanted photos in the house and in their bedrooms so they will always remember what their home looked like and she wanted photos outside in the yard. Her boys love to play on their swing set and they also love to play with the water in the backyard!
I love that I was able to get photos of each boy in their room (yes, even jumping on the bed!) We moved a handful of times throughout my childhood and what I would not give to have photos of myself in each of my childhood bedrooms! These boys will be able to see these photos when they are adults and be taken back to when they were little to see the details of their first home!

Even if you do not plan to move anytime soon,
it is still a great time to have me come take photos in your home and with your family!

What do you want your kids to remember?
Maybe your kids are little and still take sink baths and you want to remember this time before they get too big to fit in the sink! Did your little one just start walking and you want to remember this stage before they are running! Or maybe you want me to document breakfast or lunch where the kids like to help prepare the meal and the one day of the week where the whole family gets to sit down together! Maybe you want photos of when your little ones are waking up from a nap or the big kids are coming home from school. Perhaps you have a Saturday afternoon routine? Take a moment to think about the activities, things and moments that you will want to remember when you are 80! Or what you want your kids to remember when they are adults!
