Cranberry Township Newborn Photographer | Baby J in his Nursery

As a Cranberry Township Newborn Photographer, I photographed baby J in his nursery with his parents. I was originally supposed to photograph this sweet baby boy at the hospital within days after he was born for a Fresh 48 session but Coronavirus changed those plans as it did for thousands of other things.

Here in Pittsburgh, visitors were not permitted into most hospitals, especially to visit Moms and their new babies.

However, we changed our plans to do a lifestyle newborn photo session in the comfort of their home.

I took (and continue to take) all precautions when working with families during these times, especially when working with families with a brand new little baby.

Hands are washed, distance is maintained and as much as I wanted to snuggle this sweet boy, I did not handle him at all. With a lifestyle newborn session, there really is no need for me to touch a baby. For the majority of photos, the baby is in the safety of his parents’ arms or I have them lay him in the crib, bassinet, on a blanket on the floor, etc.

I’m also more than happy to wear a mask and my family and I have been excellent at social distancing since early March. I also use a lens that does not require me to get up close.

In addition to COVID changing our plans, this little guy thought he would surprise his parents by arriving five weeks early! Thankfully, he was born perfectly healthy and able to go home from the hospital within a few days.

He was almost a month old for this session and according to his due date, he was not even supposed to be here for another week!

And like many of my sessions, I was more than happy to include their fur baby!

Their doggo, Frankie, has been with Mom and Dad for nine years so he is very much a big part of the family and he is doing a great job of being a big “brother” to baby J.

I am a huge dog-person so it is important to me to include them in the photo session. And as someone who has had to say goodbye to a beloved pet, I know just how very important it is to have photos with them.

Although we did not get to do a Fresh 48 session as planned, I am happy that we were still able to capture photos of baby J and his parents in his nursery and living room!

If you are expecting, I am still booking lifestyle newborn sessions! We can do them safely at your home or they can take place outside. I am happy to accommodate families and do whatever you feel comfortable with.

And it is more than ok to also wait until baby is a little older! I absolutely love photographing babies that are a few months old.

I am currently booking for late summer and into the fall. (unless my business is shut down again due to COVID and state/county mandates) Please do not hesitate to get in touch to ask more questions or to book a newborn or family session!

Just send me a message!
