"the whole process was laid back and comfortable"

"The whole process was very laid back and comfortable. She captured the most BEAUTIFUL pictures that we'll treasure forever. I cannot praise Mary Beth enough. I HIGHLY recommend her." -Adriana

Expecting a new baby or already have a baby? Either way, I'd love to get you on my schedule!

Natural and Baby-Led Photo Sessions

Looking for newborn photos with all the fancy poses and props?

While I think those kinds of photos can be super cute...I believe babies are perfectly beautiful and pure just the way they are without all of the fussy props and unnatural poses.

With over 14 years of experience photographing babies, I take a simple and organic approach to newborn pictures.

A woman comfortably holds a baby in her lap while sitting in an armchair next to a crib in a nursery.
A baby resting on an adult's shoulder, looking over it with wide eyes.

Imagine a photo session...

• where it's ok if your baby is 2 weeks old or 2+ months old

• without awkward posing or distracting props

• that's stress-free

• doesn't require traveling to a studio

• takes place in the comfort of your home where you get to relax and just be your imperfect and amazing selves

If this sounds like the type of photo session that's perfect for your new baby & family, then I'm the perfect photographer for you!

WHAT TO EXPECT

What does an at-home newborn photo session look like?

I take pride in creating a relaxing, stress-free and easy session experience for the families that I work with!

Your session will look like you, your partner and your new baby (and other kids if you have them!) just being yourselves and together in the comfort of your home.

I'll get plenty of photos of your baby alone, with each parent (and siblings), and all of you together.

You don’t have to worry about doing anything but cuddling and gazing at your new baby! I tell parents to just look at the baby for most of the photos so you’re not awkwardly looking at my camera for the whole session!

I promise your newborn session will be laid back and relaxed. The last thing parents need to stress about is a photo session!

  • Sessions take place at your home.
  • Photos will include the whole family!
  • Yes, even Grandma and your fur-baby!

"She was so patient, and kind"

"Mary Beth is wonderful! She was so patient and kind and knew all the tricks to get the best shots! We will treasure all of these photos forever!" -Beth

"But...what if...?"

Believe me, I've heard all of the objections to having photos taken in your home and I have a good comeback for each one.

After photographing families in their homes for 15 years, I've never been in a home that was "too small, dark or cluttered!" I promise that your home is the perfect location for your session!

We can use multiple rooms, or stay in one room, it's up to you!

And it's ok if you don't have a nursery set up!

A sleeping newborn cradled in an adult's hands.
An adult's hands cradling a baby's tiny, bare foot.
A newborn baby sleeps peacefully in the arms of an adult.
A young child tenderly embracing a sleeping baby brother on a rocker.

Worried your baby will not "cooperate"?

This is not something you have to worry about! I promise!

With my lifestyle sessions, the baby runs the show!

If your baby needs fed, diaper changes or just walked/rocked/and soothed by Mom or Dad, we take all the time we need to make baby happy and content!

And since I don't do all the fancy poses, there's no need to lull baby off into a deep sleep! It's more than ok if baby is awake, I love awake photos!

Reasons to book an in-home Newborn Photo Session:

Waiting also gives siblings more time to adjust to the new baby and they will be more comfortable around baby, especially within the safety and familiarity of their own home. (read more about toddlers and newborn photos here)

#3. A lifestyle in-home newborn session is more flexible, easy, and stress free!

#4. Your home, especially the nursery, is the perfect location with a unique "backdrop" and personal "props" (your very own blankies, swaddles, onesies, etc.) Your home is part of the story!

NEWBORN SESSION FAQ

The minimum investment is $700+tax.   You can find all of my pricing and collections here on my pricing page.

I photograph most babies around two weeks old, but it is more than ok if baby is 2-3 months old. Check out this blog post for more details.

It's best to contact me near the beginning of your 3rd trimester. However, I can usually fit a session in last minute if you contact me after your baby is already born. I'll pencil you in for 2 weeks after your due date.  We will set an exact date and time after your baby is born.  Check out this blog post for more details.

I am a lifestyle photographer and I do NOT bring props or a backdrop.  I prefer to use the items you already have in your home.  I find that using your own blankets, wraps, etc., and the natural background of your home make your sessions unique and special.

No, I do not have a studio. As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I shoot on-location in the comfort of your home.  And no, I do not put your baby in a bunch of fancy poses.  I prefer to allow a baby to naturally pose themselves.  You can read more in this blog post.

Absolutely!  As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I include parents into a majority of the photos.  I want to capture that special bond and I believe a new baby belongs in the safety of their parents arms.  And yes!  I LOVE to include siblings into the photo session!  There is no additional cost for including parents, siblings or pets. I will also capture an assortment of images of your baby alone. And yes, I love to include the family fur-baby!  Only of course if I feel the dog is safe around the baby.  You can read more about that in this blog post.

Your gallery of edited images will be ready for viewing within 3 weeks.  However, oftentimes it will be ready within 1-2 weeks.
