If this sounds like the type of photo session that's perfect for your new baby & family, then I'm the perfect photographer for you!

What does an at-home photo session look like?
I take pride in creating a relaxing, stress-free, and easy session experience for the families that I work with!
Your session will look like you, your partner and your new baby (and other kids if you have them!) just being yourselves and together in the comfort of your home.
I'll get plenty of photos of your baby alone, with each parent (and siblings), and all of you together.
You don’t have to worry about doing anything but cuddling and gazing at your new baby! I tell parents to just look at the baby for most of the photos so you’re not awkwardly looking at my camera for the whole session!
I promise your session will be laid back and relaxed. The last thing parents need to stress about is a photo session!

"She was so patient, and kind"
"Mary Beth is wonderful! She was so patient and kind and knew all the tricks to get the best shots! We will treasure all of these photos forever!" -Beth
Believe me, I've heard all of the objections to having photos taken in your home and I have a good comeback for each one.
After photographing families in their homes for 15 years, I've never been in a home that was "too small, dark, or cluttered!" I promise that your home is the perfect location for your session!
We can use multiple rooms, or stay in one room, it's up to you!
And it's ok if you don't have a nursery set up!

Worried your baby will not "cooperate"?
Â
This is not something you have to worry about! I promise!
Â
With my lifestyle sessions, the baby runs the show!
If your baby needs fed, diaper changes or just walked/rocked/and soothed by Mom or Dad, we take all the time we need to make baby happy and content!
And since I don't do all the fancy poses, there's no need to lull baby off into a deep sleep! It's more than ok if baby is awake, I love awake photos!

"Mary Beth Miller did our newborn photos and she did an amazing job capturing us in our home!! We love those pictures and love that we see bits and pieces of our everyday life in them!" -Stephanie"we see bits & pieces #1. You get to stay comfortably at home!
#2. No need to rush to book your session so soon, your baby can be two weeks old or two+ months old! This gives Mom time to recover from birth and to adjust to life with a new baby!
Waiting also gives siblings more time to adjust to the new baby and they will be more comfortable around baby, especially within the safety and familiarity of their home. (read more about toddler and baby photos here)
#3. A lifestyle in-home photo session is more flexible, easy, and stress-free!
#4. Your home, especially the nursery, is the perfect location with a unique "backdrop" and personal "props" (your very own blankies, swaddles, onesies, etc.) Your home is part of the story!
#5. We can include your fur-kids! (doggies and kitties)

I photograph most babies around two weeks old, but it is more than ok if baby is 2-3 months old. Check out this blog post for more details.
It's best to contact me during your 2nd trimester. However, I can usually fit a session in last minute if you contact me after your baby is already born. Check out this blog post for more details.
Sessions last on average, two hours long. Â Check out this blog post for more details.Â
I'm a lifestyle photographer, so I do not usually bring props or a backdrop.  I prefer to use the items you already have in your home.  I find that using your own blankets, wraps, etc., and the natural background of your home make your sessions unique and special. However, I always bring along a shallow Moses basket and an assortment of solid colored muslin wraps/blankets.
I suggest keeping it casual and comfortable! Â This blog post has more info!
No, I do not have a studio. As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I shoot on-location in the comfort of your home. Â And no, I do not put your baby in a bunch of fancy poses. Â I prefer to allow a baby to naturally pose themselves. Â You can read more in this blog post.Â
Absolutely! Â As a lifestyle newborn photographer, I include parents into a majority of the photos. Â I want to capture that special bond and I believe a new baby belongs in the safety of their parents arms. Â And yes! Â I LOVE to include siblings into the photo session! Â There is no additional cost for including parents, siblings or pets. I will also capture an assortment of images of your baby alone. And yes, I love to include the family fur-baby! Â Only of course if I feel the dog is safe around the baby. Â You can read more about that in this blog post.
Your gallery of edited images will be ready for viewing within 3 weeks. Â However, oftentimes it will be ready within 1-2 weeks.
