A birth at The Midwife Center | Mary Beth Miller

I never take for granted how special it is to be invited to a birth to document it!
This birth was even more special because my client was delivering
at The Midwife Center in pittsburgh.

This is where I also delivered my second two boys in 2006 and 2010!
Both times I had a wonderful experience and can not say anything but positive
things about the Midwives and Nurses there.

This is also why I choose to donate a full photo session to their yearly
Party and Fundraiser, Let Them Eat Cake!

I received a text in the evening from my client telling me she was in labor
and they were heading to the birth center!  So I grabbed my bag to meet them there!

Mom got all settled and her contractions were already very close together.
Labor seemed to be progressing and moving along pretty fast!

My client was in such a great mood throughout her drug free labor.

After another doppler check to hear babies heartbeat, Mom decided she was ready to get into the jacuzzi.

This brought back so many memories from me, I loved laboring in the jacuzzi.

After a short time in the bath, she decided she better get to the bed….

Her husband was such an amazing and supportive labor partner!
Not long after she got on the bed, her baby was crowning and she delivered her own
baby with the assistance of the midwife.

She did such an amazing job!
And I admit, every birth I photograph moves me to tears!
How could I not cry, it is so beautiful and amazing!

Stay tuned for part two of my session with these wonderful clients!
I went to their home about a week after baby was born and took some lifestyle images of the whole family!
