Lifestyle Session at Home | Sewickley Newborn Photographer

As a Sewickley newborn photographer, I absolutely love to photograph parents with their newborn baby in the comfort of their home. When I arrived to their home, baby Logan was being held by his very sweet Grandmother and I could not get over his gorgeous dark hair and his adorable little face! 

Prior to our photo session, I assured this new Mom that it was going to be a very easy couple of hours.   The last thing I want to do is have a very new Mom, or new parents, stressing about their newborn session.   With a lifestyle newborn session there is no need to worry about anything!   I tell my clients to dress casually and comfortably and to please not worry about deep cleaning your house!  A quick pickup in a room or two is all that is necessary to prepare for our session.   All of my clients tell me at the end of their session how relaxed and easy it was for them, which is a huge relief for a new Mom who has other things to think and worry about!  With this kind of session we generally stay in one room, usually the living room, and if you have a nursery set up then we will also take some photos in there.  And this little one had an adorable nursery!   I told Mom that her style was very similar to my own!

Precious little Logan was so very content for our whole session!   For only being a week old he was so alert looking all around at Mom, Dad and me and my camera.  He slept for a little bit but was wide awake for the majority of our session.   Unlike some newborn photographers who need a deeply sleeping baby to put them into poses, I actually prefer when baby is awake!  There is absolutely nothing like looking into the eyes of a brand new baby! And because I do not put your baby into fancy poses, there is no need for them to be deeply sleeping.  During our session your baby is content in the arms of Mom and Dad for a majority of the photos.  And this is exactly where they should be!

I was also greeted by their very cute fur baby when I arrived to their home.
Mom and Grandma apologized for him wanting to sniff me and be very close to me
but I assured them that I am very much a dog person and did not mind at all!
I am happy to include the family pet into our photo session!

I really enjoyed my time photographing this wonderful little family!  It is always an honor for me to be invited into the home of a family so soon after they bring home their new baby.  And it’s always so heartwarming for me to see a couple as they navigate this new adventure in parenting together.   It brings back so many memories of the teamwork between my husband and me in the first weeks that we brought home our first son.
