I decided that for now, that I will not get into the many reasons why one should
hire a professional newborn photographer.
I will just touch on one very simple reason.
To have a photograph of you and your precious new baby.
As I was creating a blog post last night for this beautiful family, I realized this type of image will always be a favorite of mine.
Photos like this will always make my heart flutter just a bit….and sometimes they will fill my eyes with tears.

I happen to have one kind of like this, of me and my 1st born son….
It’s a self portrait with the timer on my old Canon film camera.
Taken in our tiny, one bedroom, 3rd floor apartment where my sons crib sat next to our bed.
Although it is a photo that I will always treasure, my professionally trained eyes, will always see all the technical difficulties in this image.
I really regret not hiring someone to take maternity or newborn photos.

Because of my regrets, it makes it that much more important
for me to capture moments like this for my clients.

Your tiny new baby will be taking his first step in just the blink of an eye.
You can never go back in time to re-do a moment like this.
I can not turn back time to get beautiful photos of my pregnant belly or my new babies.
But I can choose to hire someone to capture moments of us now, before in the blink of an eye, I have three teenaged boys!
It took me eight years and three kids to hire a professional photographer!
As a photographer who has been in the business for over 6 years, I’m embarrassed to even admit that!
I have only had two family sessions and I am looking forward to the third this fall.
Even though I am a photographer and I take photos of my own kids
(although you wouldn’t believe how little time I find to take my own kids photos)
I am not in those images! I think it is so important to have photos of us together!

With each and every one of my newborn photo sessions,
I always capture images of Mom and Baby together!
