Here are some of the best parks and playgrounds within Mahoning County, Ohio!
–Wick Park Recreation Area Playground and Splashpad – Mill Creek Park
This park was one of my kids’ favorite parks! There is a huge playground and an area for little kids. They also have a newer splash pad that is working in the summer months. In the winter, they have a sled riding hill!
And of course, there is the rest of Mill Creek Park to explore, like the Lily Pond, Ford Nature Center, Fellow Riverside Gardens and much more!
–Scholl Playground and Splashpad – Mill Creek Park

–Boardman Township Park – Boardman
Boardman park has 3 playgrounds! The main big wooden one, a smaller one and Tot’s Town, a playground for younger children. There’s also a stroller friendly paved path in the woods and smaller paths that branch off it. As well as a Frisbee golf course, tennis, basketball and pickleball courts, pavilions and ball fields.
–Poland Township Park – Poland Township
This park has a wonderful playground as well as a gravel path through the woods. In the winter, they have a sled riding hill!
–Poland Municipal Forest – Poland
This park does not have a playground, but lots of paths and places for kids to explore! The main and side paths are not very stroller-friendly unless you have a jogging stroller with big wheels. You can park here off College Lane, or here off Indian Trail.
–Woodworth Community Park – Poland Township
Playground and covered pavilion.
–Walnut Grove (The Hine Memorial Fund Playground) – Canfield
This has a massive play area, and it’s the area’s first all-inclusive playground. In addition to the one-acre playground, the property currently includes natural walking paths and access to the Mill Creek MetroParks Bikeway.
–Fair Park – Canfield
