As a Franklin Park newborn photographer, I was beyond excited when this gorgeous Mama contacted me about scheduling a lifestyle newborn session for her first baby! She happens to be the wife of an old friend of mine and my husband and I have known him as long as I have known my husband, for over 22 years!
And my husband has been friends with him since childhood. I was so happy to hear that he and his wife were expecting their first baby right before Christmas! The session took place in their lovely home in Franklin Park, a beautiful area just outside of Pittsburgh. I am very familiar with the area because a lot of my clients live there! They put a lot of hard work into their home!
Now, I want to introduce you to their precious daughter, Penny Jo. I absolutely love her name! Miss Penny was so perfect for the whole session. When she was not catnapping, she was looking right into the eyes of her Mom and Dad and was as content as can be.
My newborn clients always comment about how easy the session was for them and how happy they were everything went so smoothly. From the time a client books their session, I try to assure them that there is nothing for them to worry about and that they are not allowed to be stressed about their session. It is so important to me that my clients do not feel any pressure or have any worries about their session! New parents have so many other things on their minds, the last thing they need is to have any fears that the session will be too long, that baby will not “cooperate”, that their house is too messy, etc.
There are a few factors that make these lifestyle sessions stress free for my clients: My newborn sessions take place in the comfort of my clients’ homes and I do not set any time restraints. Because of these two main things my clients feel a lot less pressure and stress. New moms do not have to worry about where and when they will feed baby because we take plenty of time for feedings and diaper changes and baby cuddles and it is all right in the comfort of their own home. And best of all, they do not have to pack up the diaper bag and transport their new baby to a studio somewhere.
One of the best parts about this session is that we included their fur baby! Their sweet little pup is an Italian Greyhound. Although she is little, she has a huge personality! I had so much fun with her! I loved that they wanted her to be included in the photo session and I love that she very much wanted to be included! I am always more than happy to include pets in the photos! They are a big part of the family!
I hope you loved seeing the images from my Franklin Park newborn session with baby Penny! I really love seeing first time parents within the first few weeks after having their baby.
It is just amazing for me to witness how the natural instinct of parenting just kicks in. In these first weeks, parents are learning things like the cues of their baby and how they like to be held. They eventually become masters at feedings, burp-ings, diaper changes and putting on onesies and outfits. (remember how daunting that was when they were so tiny?!) The best part is watching the team work between parents as they navigate their way through the first weeks of parenthood. It was so great to see this old friend as a Father. Penny is so lucky to have two amazing parents!
