The Birth Story of Aurora by Mary Beth Miller

Here are the images from the birth story of Aurora by Mary Beth MillerPhotography! I knew I was going to love this adorable couple just a few minutes after I met them in their awesome Pittsburgh apartment for their Birth Session pre-consultation.

Sure, having a kitty and an adorable pup and an amazing spread of food that they prepared for our meeting were total bonus points, but even without those things, they were just so fun and easy to talk with! So of course I was just elated when they contacted me a few days later to tell me they wanted me to document the birth of their first baby! I think the day your baby is born is probably one of (if not the most) important day of their lives! Ok, so maybe the day they met or the day they got married were pretty important but I feel like the moment you become parents totally trumps all of those other days!

And let me tell you what a complete honor it is to have a couple choose me to photograph that day for them! I have been photographing births for a decade and witnessing a baby taking her very first breath never gets old. It still brings tears to my eyes every. single. time.

In addition to photographing “that moment” that Mom holds her baby for the first time, I feel like labor is also such an important part of the story! Mom needs to see how very strong and amazing she was that day! I know first hand how the day you have your baby becomes a total blur and the memories can be hazy. This is why having a birth photographer there to capture all of those moments for you is so very important!

I love that I get to witness and capture the love and support a husband or birth partner gives to the mother throughout the labor and delivery.

I have had so many of my birth client Mom’s tell me how they fell in love with their husbands again when they saw their gallery of images. To see the images of their husband feeding them ice, giving them sips of water, holding their hands, rubbing their backs and supporting them throughout the labor.

And then, the moment no one really tells you about…the moment you see you him holding your baby for the very first time…cue the “awes and the tears!”.

This gorgeous baby girl was so very wide awake and alert right after her birth! She was looking all around the room and right into the eyes of Mom and Dad. She is a tiny precious peanut, but perfectly healthy! Congratulations to her Mom and Dad!
