As a Lawrenceville Baby Photographer, I love to meet first time parents at their home with their new baby! And I definitely love to include the parents and the dog into the photo session!
I loved so many photos from this session that this is part two of the photos from their session! Scroll down below to see more images in part one of the blog post! I split the photos into the images we took upstairs in the beautiful nursery (which used to be their office) and downstairs in the living room.
When I do a photo session in a family’s home, I like to shoot in the rooms that get the best light. Sometimes we stick to one room, or we can use multiple rooms. It all depends on the light and what rooms the parents prefer to use. I tend to do most of my newborn sessions in the living room and nursery if there is one set up. But not everyone has a nursery set up and that is totally ok!
I know many families are hesitant to schedule an in-home session because they are uncomfortable with photos all over the house. Rest assured that it is more than ok to stay in one room for the whole session! Just grab the laundry piles and collection of used coffee mugs and toss them into another room and we’re good to go! No need to clean the whole house!
Baby Girl M was so very sleepy and content for our session! Although I love to get some awake shots, and mom wanted some too, there was no waking this sweet girl up!
Now, meet Edgar the Pug! He was a bit camera shy at first, as most dogs are, they are not usually a fan of hearing my shutter and it spooks them a bit. But after a few photos he became photogenic and may have thought I was there for his photos. 😉
Baby girls’ Mom slept in this cradle when she was a baby! I love including special heirloom items into a photo session!
And a family member knit this gorgeous blanket for the baby so I was happy to also include it into a few photos!
I look forward to working with this adorable little family again in the future as their baby girl gets older! Next time we’ll get those awake photos!
