“These are incredible!! I keep looking at them over and over.  I can’t thank you enough!!”
-J. (aka Mom)

Logan recently turned two and Mom wanted a photo session to celebrate so here are a lot of photos of a toddler and his family at their Pittsburgh home!

I am not sure my clients really know just how much responses like that mean to me! I really get excited about sharing slideshows and galleries with the amazing families that I photograph. I almost wish I could be there when the parents see them for the first time and I’d love to know which images are their very favorites!

Time really has a crazy way of flying by. However, I know that with little kids, the days can feel super long but the years are so very short. It was just two short years ago that I was in their lovely home to photograph Logan when he was just a few weeks old! You can go have a look at his newborn photo session in this blog post!

It was amazing to walk in and see him now as a big toddler playing with his farm toys and running and jumping and playing football in the house! And those are the things that I photographed during our session!

Photo sessions at your home can be so fun and laid back! We took all of these photos just in their dining room and living room! This means that you do not have to even worry about cleaning your whole house for a photo session! I prefer that we pick a room with great natural light and a room that you usually hang out in. This is more than enough for a 1-2 hour photo session with your family!

I spent 90 minutes with this family and I think they will agree that it was pretty fun and little to no stress involved! Well, there was a moment when this little guy was not crazy about changing into a new shirt but his Mom handled it beautifully. And I happen to think it made for some fun real-life photos! I think his Mom and Dad will love to look back and see his pouty face and his unwillingness to change! He had us all giggling when he put his shirt on top of his head! Toddlers tend to get a bad rep, but I think this is pretty much one of the best ages! (lol, I can say that now that I no longer have a toddler in my house!)

Another perk of having photos in your home with a toddler is they are super comfortable in their own environment. Often when you try to take a toddler to a park they can feel overwhelmed and then unwilling to be photographed. In their own home, they have their favorite toys and can confidently and safely navigate their own familiar environment.

Another perk is, snack time! I totally encourage my clients to give their little one’s snacks and drinks during our session! I think this also makes for more fun and real-life photos! Especially when your older fur-child likes to hang out right next to the high chair in hopes of getting some snacks too! And yes, of course, we included Toby into the photos! He IS a big part of their family!

When I photograph your family in your home, I take a mix of candid and fun photos with a few semi-posed family portraits. Often your couch is the best place for this. Even with an energetic toddler, I am always capable of getting a few of those “everyone looking at the camera and smiling” photos that we know grandparents love!

And yes, I would love to get your doggie chilling in the family photos like the adorable Mr. Toby did for these photos!

And of course, I want to capture all of the fun photos!

For part of our session, Logan was having a blast playing football in the house with Mom and Dad! I love that I captured these fun moments of play!

I hope you enjoyed seeing all of these photos of a toddler and his family and dog at their Pittsburgh home! I hope that after viewing them, you realize a photo session in your home can be pretty perfect! Everyone is comfortable and relaxed and able to have fun and be themselves. No uncomfortable posing, no song and dance to get a toddler to smile and no forced smiles.
