Printing your memories | Documentary Photography

These three boys of mine made me cry today.  See, last year, I invested many weeks and a lot of money into printing SIX years worth of photos!  I then slid those hundreds of prints into a dozen albums.  I obviously slacked off on printing photos before kid #3 even arrived…. As a photographer, I should be ashamed and embarrassed to admit that!   Today I pulled those albums from the shelf to pack them into boxes while I painted the dining room.  The boys noticed them and wanted to look through them.   Each boy grabbed an album and jumped on the couch and began laughing and squealing and pointing to photos of themselves and of each other.   It sparked memories of their old friends, neighbors, family and pets.   Memories of old bedrooms in old houses, backyards, bikes and toys.  They noticed details in the photos like missing teeth, shoes they loved, crazy toddler hair and favorite playgrounds that we used to frequent.   It started conversations on their first words, who was the chubbiest baby and who was the “baddest baby”, who rode a bike without training wheels first and “Did Daddy really wear his hair like that!?”

I stood there and cried as I watched them flip through each album.
Every single minute and every single cent that I spent on printing those memories were so very worth it.
I regret putting it off for so many years, but so very glad I finally got around to it.
I swear to never fall that far behind again.

**Please print your photos**

Do not let your memories just live on a digital thumb drive.   Because this is so important to me, every one of my clients receives a print of every one of their images.    Many of my clients also choose to purchase a high quality, professionally printed photo album as an add on product to their Collection.   This is a wonderful way to display the photos from a photo session.
