In early August I had the honor of documenting a birth for a Mom friend who is also a fellow homeschool Mom! I have grown to know and to love her family over the last five or six years that we have known them. Her three older children are so very talented, friendly, mature and polite. I was so excited when I heard they would be welcoming their fourth baby!
I know fourth babies usually come fast, but I nearly missed this birth by a couple of minutes!! That is the closest I have come to missing photographing a birth! I have not yet missed a birth and I am so glad this was not my first. Mom went from being dilated to 4cm to pushing in such a very short time! I stepped off the elevator into the Labor and Delivery unit at St. Elizabeth’s hospital in Boardman, Ohio and saw two nurses run into my friends room. As I rushed to follow them I pulled my camera out of my bag and ran to the side of her bed. She had just started pushing and I only got a few photos before she pushed her baby out! She did such an amazing job!
And to make it even more special her oldest daughter and the baby’s Grandmother were also present for the delivery! Needless to say I was feeling quite emotional as I documented this very special birth! I loved being able to capture their reactions as they watched baby Judah take his first breaths.

Welcome to the world baby Judah! It was an honor to be there while you took your very first breaths!
This little guy is so lucky to be born into such a loving and wonderful family.
And so fortunate to have some of the best older siblings to teach him and guide him throughout his life.
