Here is the full blog post from my documentary-style photo session with this beautiful family at their home in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh! As a documentary family photographer, I take a photojournalistic approach to capturing the ordinary yet beautiful moments in the ‘day in the life’ of a family!
Before I mention how much I LOVED working with this awesome family of six, I have to mention how amazing their home was! I have a thing for old Pittsburgh homes and this one was so beautiful! It reminded me of the old three-story brick home my family last lived in.
Sadly, this beautiful family (whom I have photographed multiple times in the past few years) recently moved to Canada! I am sure all of their friends in Pittsburgh were so very sad to see them go! I loved that they wanted to do this session to capture memories in the house that they made into a home while they lived here.
We did a partial day in the life storytelling session which lasted about three hours long. I captured so much in those three hours, so be prepared to see a lot of images in this blog post! And this is only a fraction of the images that I delivered to this family! I think putting these images into a photo album is the perfect way to preserve these memories and have them available for little hands to hold and look through with their Mom and Dad.
I just loved hanging out with this family for the afternoon! They are so much fun to be around!
I wish them all the luck as they begin a new chapter in their lives up North!
